The National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) of hand-to-hand combat championship in the section “Demonstration of equipment” took place in the Vasyl Vyshyvanyi Training Center of the National Guard of Ukraine in Zolochiv. As a result of the competition, a national team of the National Guard of Ukraine was formed to participate in the hand-to-hand combat tournament for the Cup of the President of Ukraine, which will take place on August 21, 2021.
According to the website of the National Guard, 40 servicemen from different parts of Ukraine took part in the competition. Each of the guardsmen demonstrated professionalism in hand-to-hand combat techniques, physical fitness and morale.
The winners of the competition in the individual championship were: I place – soldier Hryhorii Vhestenko, II place – soldier Danylo Khlopetskyi and III place – soldier Ruslan Popovych. In the team event among the teams of the third group, the winners were the team of military unit of NGU 3043 – III place, the team of military unit of NGU 3044 – II place, the team of military unit of NGU 3041 – I place. Among the teams of the second group – the team of military unit of NGU 2269 – III place, the team of military unit of NGU 3018 – II place, the team of military unit of NGU 2260 – I place. Among the teams of the first group – the team of Western Operational Territorial Association – III place, the team of Southern Operational Territorial Association – II place, the team of Central Operational Territorial Association – I place.
It will be recalled that hand-to-hand combat is part of the system of professional training of servicemen, law enforcement officers and other special departments of the state. On August 21, the Palace of Sports will host the Cup of the President of Ukraine in hand-to-hand combat among the national teams of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, law enforcement and special bodies of the state. The tournament is included in the plan of official events for the preparation and celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence!
